Flavor, Texture, Usage
The apple is very crisp, with a sweet and tart, juicy, creamy-white flesh. It is excellent for eating and in salads, and good for sauce, baking, pies and freezing. The small sizes makes Empire a hit with children in school lunch boxes.
Availability

History
Empire was introduced in 1966 in New York State. With the popular Red Delicious and McIntosh for parents, Empire apples were destined to be a hit. Empire is one of the few "northern"; varieties we can grow successfully in Virginia, although you may find that a Virginia Empire has a slightly different taste to one grown in colder northern climates.
